Born in the venetian countryside, into a strongly religious family as first of there children, she ran away in 2005 to live her life as a woman like she always wanted to.
She did not regret leaving her parents at all since they used to punish any choice that did not align with their ideals of first-born son, but carried her remorse for leaving behind her sibling (Alice, the middle child and Matteo, the youngest).
She lived in Milan until 2014, working first as a bathroom cleaner, then cashier in bookstores and pet-sitter, until she got a job at the Esoteric Library. She starts slowly to live as a woman, as consolation for her solitude. As much as she reached her goal of molding her body into the image she has of herself, that euphoria keeps her happy for a short time, until the reality that she was completely alone hit her. As much as she tries, not even spite against her parents is stronger than her sadness, and she plunges into depression that brings her to have frequent suicidal thoughts.
One evening she meets Mirta Coralli, an enigmatic woman that besides interacting with her as if Dalia was her daughter, acts as though she has known her her whole life. She tells her of incredible realities, promises her she will never be alone again, that she will have a mother that really loves her.
After the Embrace she wakes up with a locket around her neck containing two weirdly familiar faces framed by golden locks, but as much as she tries she cannot recall their identities.
In her current nights, her goal is to make at least ten friends, encouraged by Mirta as well who does not want to see her spiral into solitude again.
