Last of six sisters, she was born different, meaning that in a family of dryads she's a satyr. her mother didn't take it very well.
Her mother, a dryad archfey, saw her from the first moment as a terrible stain on her reputation and as a nuisance. Ipomea grew up locked inside her room, never able to go out and play with her sisters, who grew up either ignoring her or bullying her.

Ipomea, of course, doesn't really obey her mother and starts sneaking out as a teenager, but when her mother finds her out she drags her back home and cuts away her horns. Even more humiliated, she realizes that her mother will never love her even if she behaves, and gets even better at sneaking out.

One evening in a tavern she meets Sol, a circus performer who easily persuades her to leave her home and join the traveling circus. There, she meets another satyr, demetrio, who befriends her and acts as a sort of older brother figure, gifting her a pair of fake horns that she can wear thanks to a golden ring on each base. Sol becomes her friend and friend-with-benefits, and the three of them travel as a troublesome trio for years in the Feywilds.

One night, Ipomea finds herself on the shore of a small pond, and almost in a trance she walks into it. She finds herself in a different meadow, at night, and hears music and voices not too far form her. Following them she stumbles upon a bacchanal, and invited by a strange person into the circle she joins the dances. When she wakes up she's naked, her shirt thrown on a nearby bush, and she's holding a thyrsus. Above her the sky is almost too blue, and she realizes she's fallen on the material plane.

As a bard she survived for a while performing in taverns and found shelter for the night by sleeping with any tavern maid who would have her, until she found a job for the adventurer's guild and met with her current party members: Asterion the minotaur,, Agatodoro the halfling, Gonorrea the ???[we don't know what he is, just that he looks like a tall and buff Yoda with thick eyebrows and that he's been cursed by Eris] and Berenice the fire genasi, butch lesbian that she met once before, during a bacchanal. She miiight have a crush on Berenice.
